Nimble. Wrap Ups | 1800 West Loop
Fueling Community and Conversation
To date, we’ve consulted on over 40,000 square feet of projects with one common goal – to define and extend an intentional ‘look’ and intangible ‘feel’ through every planned detail.
1800 West Loop is a 21-story, 400,000 SF, LEED gold certified office tower located in Houston’s amenity-rich Galleria submarket. Owned by Keppel Pacific Oak US REIT, Nimble. was first engaged in 2018 to consult on a series of planned capital efforts, including spec suite design, common corridor and restroom renovation finish selections, and the visioning of new amenity spaces aimed to distinguish and elevate [1800’s] position in the market.
Digging In
While 1800 [West Loop]’s distinct footprint makes it easily standout in the Galleria skyline, it proves very challenging from a space planning perspective. Long runs of narrow usable space with funky corners that translate to oversized private offices or inefficient open office. Through lots of exploration, we programmed a first round of spec suites using some of the challenging vacancies in the building.
What we’ve learned? Hone in on your target user and personify their spatial needs to a tee, in the same breath – diversify your offerings.
At Nimble., we go develop user personas (defining the ‘who’) to guide every spatial process. When making any spatial decision, we ask ourselves – does this decision help or diminish the value-add of our users?
We design to empower leasing action, while providing disciplined form and function we know the end user needs to provide the best workplace experience possible to its employees (things like natural light, abundant glass line, communal break areas, and flexible space are contributors we never compromise on).
UPDATE: Of the 11 spec suites we’ve designed, currently 8 have leased.
Creating Memorable ‘Hooks’
Our most beloved project to-date at 1800 has by far been the addition of its new amenity spaces – the fitness studio, complete with private studio room and individual shower rooms, and the first floor multi-purpose ‘hub’ – with offerings just too considered and vast to spell out in sentence form; rather – we’ll show you.

In Summary
This project has been a complete labor of love, patience –and your typical dose of vendor woes– but the icing on the cake to a long-term journey of uncovering potential and delivering space that speaks to its user base. We’ve learned SO much from this project, best discussed over coffee, and can’t thank our Client and project team enough for the ability to see so many of its parts through fruition.
So, what’s on deck ?
Another round of our best yet spec suites and the holistic reimagining and gradual implementation of exterior and interior signage and wayfinding enhancements.
